Born from necessity, driven by design. ESCULTURA was created in response to a gap in the market, a need for furniture that fused bold form with conscious craftsmanship.
Director Maryke Bishop of Bishop Master Finishes engaged Nitsou x Mo to design her private residence. The brief was unique and finding the right dining table proved a challenge. With a refusal to settle, Nitsou x Mo designed a dining table that was then coated with Bishops micro-cement and lime. The result was so successful that the decision to take it to market was the next natural step.

Driven by an innate desire to challenge convention and defy boundaries, Kat views her creative potential as limitless while playfully looking beyond the status quo. A footloose spirit, she is ever in pursuit of a more intentional and inspiring way to live—one that thrives on purposeful design. Cultivating a distinct design philosophy grounded in innovation. The journey into bespoke furniture design came from wanting more than what the marketplace offered. A belief that true artistry lies in the magic of collaboration, where clients, designers and makers converge to form something deeply personal and bespoke. It is not merely about the arrangement of space—it is about the charm of all it’s parts that set the stage for impact to be made, inviting those who enter to see the world through a new lens that becomes more about their own experience.

Imogene is a passionate designer with a strong aptitude for both conceptual and technical aspects of interior architecture. She challenges traditional design norms, aiming to reshape how people interact with space. With a breadth of international experience in residential and hospitality sectors across Europe, the UAE, and Australia, she brings a unique perspective to her work, combining diverse materiality and strong technical perception. Imogene is an intuitive design communicator with a bold vision, dedicated to creating exceptional outcomes. Motivated by the transformative power of design, Imogene is committed to enhancing the spaces in which we live.

The business is trusted by Australia’s top design studios for its commitment to quality and craftsmanship. A creative at heart, Maryke is passionate about design and excited to be channelling her creativity into furniture. She co-founded ESCULTURA to create a bold new venture that fuses her family’s legacy of bespoke finishes with innovative furniture concepts. As director, Maryke brings a deep understanding of materiality and a drive to push the boundaries of contemporary design.
